Destiny Gundam Done

Last kit for the year. Just a fun and practice build to learn more about SB using pla-plates. I modified the wing design and back pack.Lengthen the waist/torso, skirts, head and thighs. Added some panel lines and MSG's. Still far from the MG version. :D

Painted and decals applied. Just have to apply a final topcoat.

NG Destiny Gundam WIP Update: Weapons

Did some pre-painting mods to avoid masking and minimize paint scraping in the future. I also managed to detail up both sword and cannon with pla-plates.

Heres another mock assembly of the upper body.

Made a pseudo internal on the shoulder armors using Kotobukiya MSG's and plaplate. Also added new panel lines and details on the legs.

Just some random pla-plate detailing and panel lines.

Made the new attachment for the shoulder armor, detailed the elbow and knee joints a bit, drilled the foot; will insert metal beads after painting and I also trimmed the foot armor.

Re-shaped the knee details.

Here is the mock assembly of the torso, crotch and back pack. Im quite satisfied with the new proportions.

Modified the backpack using high impact plastic sheets. I find the stock one too short or little for my taste.

For the head, I also extend it about 1.5mm

Some quick updates. I redesign the torso by adding pla-plates on the chest area and extended the waist by about 2.5mm.

For the crotch section; I extended the frotn skirts and thighs with pla-plate and epoxy putty. I also modified the front crotch using some of my scraps.

NG Destiny Gundam WIP Update: Wings

This is an on and off project for me, every time I get bored I try to get back to this kit slowly. I have nothing particular in mind for this one, I just go with my mood and based some of the mods on other builds I saw on the net and I just want to practice my skills using pla-plates. Here’s what I’ve done so far... I managed to redesign the wings. The wings of this kit in NG are nothing compared to its MG counterpart, so I extended it a bit and made them a little bulkier.

RX178 MK2 Done

This was sort of a rush project. Basically it was kit-bash between an HGUC RX178 and GM Quel. No major mods was done, only some pre-painting mods on the arms. Pla strips and pins were also added for extra detailing. For more pics please do check main site at www.mechaion.tk

MG GP01 WIP Update: Armor Painting

Just a quick update... done painting all the armor parts. I did some hexagon pattern on the kit so it wouldnt be that plain. Decals are also applied.

MG GP01 WIP Update: Color Scheme

While waiting for the internals to cure, I made some color scheme for the GP01. I feel like a simple and somewhat monochromatic scheme might work, since Im kindda bored with the traditional white, blue and red color combination for Gundams. Im leaning towards the scheme on the right. I think its more balanced with regards to the distribution of colors.

MG GP01 WIP Update: Paint 1

Just finished painting the internals with a custom mix of metallic colors. So far I like what im seeing. Will let this cure for maybe 3-4 days since I wont be topcoating it.

MG GP01 WIP Update: Prep

Nothing much, I just separated the parts for prepping and sanding (I hate this part of model making) *LOL*. Im planning to paint the internals first since I have no plans applying a topcoat on it. The parts must be fully cured to avoid paint chipping/scrapping. After this I will go straight to painting. Still planning what color scheme to use.

Been lazy these past few days. So far I cemented all the parts that needs to be sealed. Im still in the progress of doing some pre-painting modifications on the legs, head and feet.

MG GP01 WIP

Just wanna share my latest project. Ive been a fan of the Korean modeling scene lately, I fell in love with their simple but clean and flawless builds. So I will try to achieve the same look or feel with this project. There would be no major modifications for this one. Im just planning to use the "Heavy user parts" included in the model kit. So it will just look pretty much OOTB when its done. I also plan to change the color scheme, I prefer a minimalist look on this build, so no bright colors will be used such as yellow or red (maybe on the eyes only).
