MG GP01 WIP Update: Color Scheme

Add Image

While waiting for the internals to cure, I made some color scheme for the GP01. I feel like a simple and somewhat monochromatic scheme might work, since Im kindda bored with the traditional white, blue and red color combination for Gundams. Im leaning towards the scheme on the right. I think its more balanced with regards to the distribution of colors.

MG GP01 WIP Update: Paint 1

Just finished painting the internals with a custom mix of metallic colors. So far I like what im seeing. Will let this cure for maybe 3-4 days since I wont be topcoating it.

MG GP01 WIP Update: Prep

Nothing much, I just separated the parts for prepping and sanding (I hate this part of model making) *LOL*. Im planning to paint the internals first since I have no plans applying a topcoat on it. The parts must be fully cured to avoid paint chipping/scrapping. After this I will go straight to painting. Still planning what color scheme to use.

MG GP01 WIP Update: Cement

Been lazy these past few days. So far I cemented all the parts that needs to be sealed. Im still in the progress of doing some pre-painting modifications on the legs, head and feet.

MG GP01 WIP

Just wanna share my latest project. Ive been a fan of the Korean modeling scene lately, I fell in love with their simple but clean and flawless builds. So I will try to achieve the same look or feel with this project. There would be no major modifications for this one. Im just planning to use the "Heavy user parts" included in the model kit. So it will just look pretty much OOTB when its done. I also plan to change the color scheme, I prefer a minimalist look on this build, so no bright colors will be used such as yellow or red (maybe on the eyes only).

The Only Thing Permanent Is Change

Well Im kindda tired of the usual scheme of my kits so Im planning to do another "kikay" finish! This time I'll apply it on the SD Astray Gundam! When its done I'll give it to Yna as a birthday present! That's it for now! Later guys!

Last Week...

Crusaders Strikes Again

Ok... It's Thursday once again and so it only means one thing... time to hang out with the boys. This time it was no plain tambay or kwentuhan, I gotta paint Jam's riffle. They arrived late so I got to start painting at 6PM and I was forced to finished it 'coz I dont want to have pending works on my shoulders. Honestly I felt a lil' conscious while doing it 'coz I dont know if I can pull off the Pink Camo finish that they want and the fact that they (Mike and Jam) were there watching me. So I ask Jae's help to cut out some templates and hold it for me while I'm busy spraying, and Caloy's assistance for mixing paints and of course Pugee for the creative criticism. So after 3 hours I'm done painting, now it's time to put the decals (c/o Caloy), after that we decided to eat dinner... Mike cooked some Tinapa, and prepared some tomatoes and salted egg. Hmmmm.... yummy! hehehehe! So after eating, chatting and smoking, time to get back to work. The final top coat was applied and Mike assembled the riffle and it's done!
One Pink AK-47 riffle for his GF c/o Mechaion Designs! ahahahahaha!

One happy customer!!!

Oh before I forget all of them also bought this Casio Frogman Digital watch! What a trip! They were all forcing me to buy one also but I decline since that I have so many pending kits to buy. They were even laughing at me and saying that Im not in the group without the watch! Ahahahahaha!

Mechapinoy's 6th Yr. Anniv and X-mas Party

Argghhhh... another late post. Sorry. We held our Christmas party and 6th Year Anniversary at Ritchie's place in Cubao, I think it was last week. hehehehe! First stop was Megamall to meet some fellow MP members there and to check out the IPMS Nationals.

IPMS Nationals

The display area was big, bigger than our display area at Toy Kingdom. The entries??? Well... there was a lot of category and honestly I'm not an expert with military and figure modeling but they were all great!

Fighter plane Bahay kubo dio Sci-fi category real neat figures! and yes... TANKS!

Another great news was that Mechapinoy sweep the sci-fi category! Congratulations to Nath, James and Erwin! Check out the pics, the "Bahay Kubo Diorama" was my favorite of all entries! I wonder if it bagged a prize.

Ok... after spending some time at Megamall we went straight to Ritchie's place to attend our very much anticipated Christmas party!

Ahhh... our cake! Courtesy of Jake and his lovely wife!

All that I can say is... it was a very successful party! We can barely move inside due to the fact that there were a lot of MP members who attended... even the newbies! We also held our last In-house competition for the year.

Zeta inhouse entries

Again Congratulations to Ed, Mike and Ron for winning! We also played our Bit-Char-G's after the party!

Me and ArvinRyan and Simon

But the best part of it was the drinking session with some of my close friends in MP! I mean the discussion was burning... from our achievements this year... to our expectations for the coming year... to kits... to anime... and yes... even sex! ahahaha! Boys will be boys!
