Bandai HG00 1/144 GN-005 Gundam Virtue

Done with my 1/144 Gundam Virtue from Bandai. This model will be under the "customized model kits for sale" of Team Renegade Modeling Services. Very impressive kit especially for a 1/144th scale, assembly is quite easy with minimal seams that needs to be sealed. Well-balanced and can be pose fairly. My only gripe is the lack of details which I think becoming standard with Bandai's 1/144 releases. Since I love the proportion of the kit, I did not made any drastic modifications. I just added a couple of details (panel lines, plastic rods and decals from Bandai & Samuel) to improve the overall look of the kit. Fully painted with Gaianotes lacquers, panel wash with Tamiya enamels.

BANDAI HG00 VIRTURE GUNDAM WIP 2

Just a small update about the Virtue Gundam WIP. Added some panel lines on the whole kit, copied some from the 1/100 scale. Also added a few details like rivet holes. The kit is a bit plain looking but the proportion looks good at least for my taste, so no heavy modifications needed. Will just have to clean the scribed parts before painting.

Next WIP for the TRMS 2nd auction. It will be a clean build with a bit of detailing to complement my previous Nadleeh build.

Bandai EX Model YMT-05 Hildolfr

Another commission work out of the way. Just finished this 1/144 EX Model Hildolfr. Quite interesting model kit, half tank half mecha. Assembly's fairly simple and got great details. The usual OOTB, changed the scheme into a bluish-green color as requested by the client. Waterslide decals are also provided which is good since the kit is pretty pricey. Painted with Gaianotes lacquers, wash with Tamiya enamels, filters done using Artist's Oils and pigments for the dust effect.

As of posting time, most (90%) of the dust effects were already removed (good thing I didnt apply any fixative on the pigments). The client finds it to be a bit too weathered for his taste.

Here's a mock assembly before the flat coat and pigments.

Bandai EX Model 1/144 YMT-05 Hildolfr: WIP 2

Primed. Also applied black on the areas I want to have shadows, will do a bit of colour modulation alongside with traditional pre-shading.

The tracks were painted with Rust color then drybrushed with silver then dark silver. I was a bit sloppy on this step because it wont be that obvious after the application of pastel for dust effects.

After some trial and error, finally I found the right color. Cant believe I should throw Bright Green into the mix to get it right. I just love mixing my own paints.

MG Gouf build interrupted by another commission project. I guess I need to prioritize this one first. So far so good, no fitting problems and minimal sealing needed. The client is still thinking for a custom scheme, I just hope its good. *cross fingers*

HG 1/144 RGM-79[G] GM Ground Type

Here's my latest build, actually a fun build. Also my contribution to Pla-zone's "Back to Basics" GB and will be donated/lend to Mechapinoy's kit pool project. This one is an old HG GM sniper which I poorly built & painted way back when I was new to the hobby. I decided to restore it since I dont want to see it just inside a box with other scraps and collecting dust. At the same time help the 2 communities with their respective projects. So about the build, as usual OOTB,  AB'ed with Gaianotes laquer paints (change the color scheme too), weathering was achieved using artist's oils and Tamiya weathering master (dusting on the feet & lower legs).

HGGS 1/144 Gunbarrel Striker

Here's the 2nd model kit of the 3 commissions I mentioned in my "Exass" post. Its a 1/144th scale Gunbarrel Striker from the Gundam Seed MSV series. Still out of the box, only the color was changed (originally orange and white). The client prefers a grayish - low visibilty scheme, but I find it a bit dull. So what I did was to mix some blue with the light gray so it wont be that boring. After market decals were also used for extra details.

EX Model Mobile Armor Exass

2nd kit for the year and 1st of the 3 commissions I signed up for. First attempt on an EX Model, and I really find it impressive with regards to the details and assembly. My only gripe is almost all the parts are system injected but nothing a good old masking cant do. The build is only OOTB, only pre-painting modifications were done.

HGGS AQM/E-X04 Gunbarrel Striker WIP

Commission no. 2 done! 1 more to go and I can go back to all my pending builds.

EX Model Mobile Armor Exass WIP

Been a bit better after taking a break from building model kits due to a slipped disc injury. This EX Model Exass is a commission build and a great kit to start modeling again (slowly). Just an OOTB finish, just added some metallic colors here and there and decals to give it some extra details. I just have to finish a 4 drones/dragoons or whatever they call it and its all done.

Throne Eins

Been out of the modeling scene for quite sometime due to my spine injury. So here's an overdue kit which I finished a couple of months ago. Its a 1/144 HG Throne Eins from the 00 series. No extreme modifications were done. I just followed my old Throne Drei build, which involves extending the waist and neck, additional panel lines, rivet holes and pla strips for details. Only the Throne Zwei left and the Trinity is complete. :)

HGUC Hyaku Shiki Done

My last kit for 2010, a kitbash of the HGUC Hyaku Shiki and Zeta. Just like of my usual builds this guy was treated with additional panel lines, pla plates, etc as details. It was a nice fun build which kept me busy in between builds for the last quarter competitions locally.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

HGUC RX-79[G] Ground Gundam Type

Finished this kit about a month ago for the IPMS Philippines Nationals. Its a purely OOTB build with a slightly weathered scheme. I kindda miss pre-shading mecha kits, and its perfect to practice weathering I've learned from armor building. Chippings and filter were achieved using oil paints (sorry, cant be seen clearly from the photo because of the camera's exposure), then I used acrylics and powders for the dusting on the feet and legs. I was also amazed on the tooling of this kit, very few seam lines to tackle and excellent fitting. Probably my favorite build this year.

HGUC Hyaku Shiki: WIP Photos

Just another scrap build, been working on this kit for quite some time now... the usual on and off. I was a bit busy and lazy that I forgot to make a WIP entry for this one. But I still want to share it with you guys so just follow the link to my album below. Thank you!

HG00 Gundam Nadleeh Done

I manage to finish this side project of mine. Even though its a bit cold and rainy these last few weeks. My main concern was the possibility of "frosting" due to the weather, but it all turned out pretty good. You can call it an OOTB finish, I just did a few panel lining and details to it.

HG00 Throne Drei Done

My latest build. A 1/144 HG00 Throne Drei. I was able to finish it after two weeks of cramming to be able to join the Mechapinoy TBIB In-house Competition. Modifications done were extending the neck and waist joints. I also added panel lines and rivet holes as additional details. I also changed the color scheme a bit to give it a little flair.

HG00 Throne Drei WIP

Its a relief that we were given another week to finish our entries. It gave me more time to finish and be a little bit more meticulous. Im just waiting for the other parts to cure from the final flat coat and its all done. :)
